There are 18 historical sites to see and learn about. There are plenty of water activities at Lake Norman all year round. In addition to the water recreation available, Lake Norman offers scenic views and plenty of wildlife. A great place to spend an enjoyable weekend. Huntersville has seven parks to enjoy. Four of the facilities are set up for such sports as basketball, soccer and baseball. There are also playgrounds and picnic facilities for the whole family to enjoy. The parks and recreation department offers many activities such as classes, athletics for all ages and many special events through the year. A family fitness center and an outdoor fun park provide many activities for health and fun. The golfer will find much to offer with the 18-hole championship golf course at Northstone Country Club. Those who enjoy a round of golf on the weekends will find this course to be quite a treat. With Charlotte being only a 10 minute drive away, other places of interest can be accessed easily. Among these attractions are the north Carolina Auto Racing Hall of Fame, the Duke Power Energy Explorium and the Charlotte Metro Zoo. Huntersville has so much to offer as a great place to live that it is very much worth looking into. It is a beautiful family oriented town.
